Graduates at Work

“I graduated from the Beaumont School of Interior Decorating and Design in 2003 after completing both the Beginners and Advanced Decorating/Design Courses. The courses enabled me to return to the work force after having children and changing careers.

The education and confidence I gained from completing these courses through this school with Tracie Dunne enabled me to start my own decorating business that same year. I also worked part time for a well known Design firm for several years to gain practical and industry experience.

After 7 years I still enjoy my work as a decorator and have had many rewarding projects and satisfied clients.”

Since graduating from The Beaumont School Andrew Dwyer spent several years working as an interior designer under the guidance of one of Brisbane’s most highly regarded designers as well as developing and completing work for his own clients.

He then travelled to London where he further developed his own client base while diversifying into architectural specifying. He worked in the flooring industry – where he originally cut his teeth in the design and interiors industry – working for a flooring retailer throughout the central London area.

Most recently he has returned to Brisbane and taken a position with the contract team at Space Furniture. Space supplies the architectural and design industry with the best in contemporary Italian and European furniture and lighting. He is excited to be back in Brisbane servicing the architectural and design community throughout Queensland.

Sharron Tancred graduated from the Beaumont school in 2006 and then proceeded to do the Colour Psychology Course the same year. Her company, Works For Your House is built upon this knowledge plus a 20 year profession in Illustration and Graphic Design. Since graduating, Sharron has worked for Spiritus Aged care, Westfield, Qld Health and many more residential and corporate clients creating original works of art on canvas or walls, all guaranteed to match the clients taste and decor.

She has won and been nominated for several business awards of late, including winning the 2010 Quest Business Achievers Award for Home Retail and she is currently nominated for the Regional Achievement Awards for Arts and Culture.

“Interior decorating is such a creative and versatile industry. Whilst I had “dabbled” in it for a long time I had never anchored it with any study. When I came across Beaumont School of Interior Decorating and Design I enrolled and found the classes informative.

The opportunity to meet up with suppliers from different areas of decorating and design was a start to networking within the industry.

Once I had finished the advanced course I started out my own business – Urban Dezign. My work is flexible, fun and diverse. I work my own hours and have the opportunities to travel and pick up new ideas to further my interior decorating business.”

“Graduated in 2006, Completing both Beginners and Advanced Interior Decorating and Design Courses. Further studying with Tracie Dunne in her first Colour Psychology Course.

Since completing my courses with Tracie, I have started my own business… Touches Interior Design & Dècor – having worked with a range of clients from small to large budgets.

It’s been challenging and rewarding, renovating and decorating individual rooms or taking on the whole Project Management Role on full scale decorating and design contracts.

Completing the courses gave me the confidence and knowledge to take on larger projects such as Multi Level Residential Units, working with Marketing Agents, Builders, Trades, Sales Reps, Body Corporate and Property Managers.” – Carmel A Reggi, Touches Interior Design & Decor.
